Crown and Bridge - Metal-Free

At Ultra-Bond we use Zeno CAD CAM technology for the production of all of our zirconia cores. Zeno system is one of the most sophisticated systems on the market today. It uses the highest quality zirconium oxide material which is more homogeneous than any conventional zirconium oxide.

This quality is important because it results in the most precise fit, even for long span bridgework. Unlike procera zirconia system which offers only four shades, Zeno makes it possible to match any shade on the colour chart thanks to its Zircolor colouring solution.

Statistics show that since zirconia was introduced in dentistry there were a number of restorations that failed. As a result of this negative publicity, many clinicians became skeptical towards zirconia restorations. At Ultra-Bond we are well aware of such failures and we know the reasons behind them. Unfortunately, many labs still fail to design their cores properly which later results in fractures of the porcelain.

When designing zirconia cores it is crucial to provide proper support for the porcelain that is going to be sintered on top of them. In order to achieve the optimal strength of the overall restoration, the core must be designed in such a way that once finished the thickness of veneering porcelain should never exceed more than 1.5 mm.

The thicker the porcelain the more fragile and prone to cracking it is. It is for this reason that at Ultra-Bond, prior to digital scanning, always designs the cores in wax. This way we make sure, that once the core is milled, it will provide proper support and strength to the veneering porcelain.

Noritake CZR porcelain

All of our Porcelain Fused to Zirconia restorations are manufactured using Noritake CZR porcelain which was specifically developed for use with zirconia frameworks. Apart from providing excellent compatibility and bonding with zirconia, Noritake CZR offers ideal stability with outstanding resistance to fractures and chipping. Furthermore, due to its exceptionally fine particle size, it can achieve the selective reflection that assures the opalescence seen in natural teeth. Smaller particle size is also responsible for its high flexural strength and resistance to abrasion very similar and close to that of natural dentition.
